The Swimming Room Syllabus
Our team of seasoned coaches has crafted a distinctive and thorough curriculum comprising 8 levels. This syllabus is meticulously designed to shape individuals, guiding them from complete beginners to proficient swimmers.
level 1: water familiarisation

Entry into and exit from chest deep pool from ladder and pool edge

Ability to perform hand-walking in horizontal position in pool

Moving along the pool edge using hands only in chest deep pool

Assisted movement on front and back through the water for 5 counts

Confident jump into chest deep pool with support without goggles
level 3: breath management

Ability to perform facedown forward glide for 5 counts.

Recover to standing position from front and back float.

Exhaling from the nose for 5 counts in water.

Supported Flutter Kick with breath exchange.
-
Ability to perform 5 breath exchanges in deep pool.
-
Dog Paddle with bubbling for 5 meters.
-
Safety float for 5 counts and rollover on back float for 5 counts.
-
Flutter kick on front for 5 counts and rollover on back to breathe for 5 counts and roll back to front for 5 counts with flutter kick.

Retrieve submerge objects from chest deep pool without goggles.
level 2: water confidence

swim foundation
At the end of Swim Foundation course, you will be awarded a TSR Certificate of Completion
and will be eligible to take SwimSafer Stage 1 Test (Optional).

In this course, at the end of each Level, you will be required to take our TSR Swim Test. A TSR Certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the test and you will also be eligible for SwimSafer Stage 2 test onwards.

Moving through the water for 10m without goggles.

Perform standing dive.

200 meters continuous swim.

25 meters Backstroke Swim.

100 meters swim with shorts and t-shirt.

25 meters survival sidestroke swim.

Perform forward somersault.
level 7: butterfly

50 meters Frontcrawl Swim.

50 meters Breaststroke Swim.

50 meters Backstroke Swim.
-
100 meters continous swim with long sleeves shirts and long pants.
-
Tread water for 3 min (leg only, hand and leg, hand only).
-
Remove clothing in water and make float with pants and float for 1 minute and use float to move 15 meters.
-
400 meters continuous swim.
-
50 meters Butterfly Swim.

There will be Advanced TSR Skills Tests and TSR Achievement Badges will be awarded upon successful completion of these test. At this stage, you will also be eligible to take the SwimSafer Gold Test.
